Advantages of taking an Airport Shuttle

Flying can be an extremely exhausting experience.  That's especially true if you're flying internationally or with a few connections.  The last thing you want to do when you arrive is to take a long ride in a cramped bus or in a taxi with a driver who is determined to charge a ridiculously high amount and with a bad attitude.  Another option does exist that circumvents these and other problems - the airport shuttle.

Taking an airport shuttle provides plenty of space and comfort.  Most shuttles are less than two years old and can comfortably seat up to eight or nine passengers.  If you're long-legged, you should have plenty of legroom, not like in a cramped bus.  If you're traveling with a baby or a toddler, you can easily strap on a car seat so that your child has its own seat. Buses, on the other hand, can hardly accommodate a child's seat in their tight seating arrangement.

Shuttles usually have excellent air-conditioning and heating systems that quickly cool or heat the van.  Not so with buses.  In a bus, it's usually too hot or too cold. That could seriously affect your ride to the hotel if you're visiting during the hot summer months or cold winter period.  Many people also become bus sick very easily.  In a van, you sit up close, even if you're in the last row.  You're chances of getting carsick are greatly reduced and no more likely than in a regular vehicle.

With shuttle service, you know that the price you've been quoted is not inflated like it can be with a taxi.  Since shuttle service drivers are employees and get paid by the hour (plus tips), there's no reason to hike prices.  With a taxi, you can never be sure that the driver hasn't raised the price with the extra going into his own pocket.  Shuttle drivers also are usually friendlier since they are employees and can get into trouble for poor service.  Some companies even give their clients customer service evaluations to rate their overall service. Taxi drivers, on the other hand, are usually independent contractors and are less affected by poor customer reviews.
